SUBSTANCE: wastewater treatment method involves mixing wastewater with powdered alkali metal titanate in a reaction tank equipped with a stirrer for solid-liquid separation of powdered alkali metal titanate on which radioactive strontium is adsorbed, alkaline aggregation to precipitate strontium in wastewater where carbonate ions are added In an amount equivalent to 1.0 to 2.0 times the amount of strontium. The wastewater is additionally added with alkali in an amount such that the pH of the mixture is from 9.0 to 13.5. The powdered alkali metal titanate is added during the alkaline aggregation step or after the alkaline aggregation step. There is also an embodiment of the method as well as equipment for wastewater treatment.
