FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method includes preparation of exothermic charge by mixing aluminium powders, nickel oxide and at least one alloying additive and initiation in the exothermic charge of metallothermic reaction providing reduction of oxides and formation of nickel aluminide. The exothermic charge is prepared with addition of ballast additive, which acts as flux, in the form of calcium fluoride. Aluminium powder is used in excess relative to stoichiometric ratio of powders in mixture. Chromium oxides are used as alloying additive, or oxides of molybdenum, or oxides of tungsten, or oxides of titanium in amount of not more than 15 wt %. Metallothermic reaction in exothermal charge is carried out without external heating in reactor or in open air with production of material based on nickel aluminide in the form of ingot.
EFFECT: reduce number of technological cycles and increase purity and yield of material based on nickel aluminide.
