FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: to plan the patient's treatment with photodynamic therapy, measure the volume of the treated area by volumetric reconstruction using digital contour processing. Determine the number of optical fibers, their position relative to the brachytherapy array and the length of their administration. For this purpose, the theoretical volume of the action of one optical fiber is calculated in combination with the said photosensitive substance in the volume of the cylinder. In this case, the range of the optical fiber is determined by correlating the measured volumes of necrotic areas as a result of a number of clinical trials performed on different patients with theoretical volumes of action. An information database is formed that includes digital images of the treated area before and after the clinical trial and the parameters of the optical fibers necessary for treatment planning that meet the conditions of the clinical trial.
EFFECT: method allows to increase the speed and efficiency of planning photodynamic therapy, by optimising the number of optical fibers, the length of their introduction and the position relative to the brachytherapy lattice using computer simulations.
