FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: as a cathode, porous aluminium with a calcium oxide content of 1.5% is used, it is placed in a solution with an alkali content of 0.2% to 1% and is reacted at the temperature of 15°C to 70°C, using water with pH of 7 to 12.
EFFECT: use of the proposed method allows to increase the production of hydrogen by more than 1,5 times in comparison with the known method.
