FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a trifunctional catalyst for use in vehicle exhaust gases having a catalyst comprising a mixture of nickel and copper on a carrier, said carrier being inert to nickel and copper. The nickel mentioned is contained in said carrier in an amount of from about 4 to about 20 wt %, and wherein said copper is contained on said carrier in an amount of from about 0.04 to about 10 wt %, said catalyst not containing precious metals. The invention also relates to a vehicle exhaust gas purification system.
EFFECT: increased effectiveness of the declared catalyst, reduced concentration of CO, HC and NOx emissions, and increased ability to accumulate oxygen and water gas convertion.
