SUBSTANCE: installation of acoustic transducers is performed on the structure with the formation of a piezo antenna and an acoustic transducer of the simulator into the zone bounded by the piezo antenna, the structure calibration is performed, the propagation speed of the acoustic emission signals on the structure is determined, and the minimum duration of two time "windows" is determined for the minimum spread of arrival times and the difference of their arrival times for the acoustic transducers, wherein the arrival times of the acoustic emission signals to the piezo antenna sensors are determined from the maximum value of the signal energy ratio in the second time window to the signal energy in the first time window and the calculation of the defect coordinates on them.

EFFECT: ensuring the possibility of a significant increase in the accuracy of determining the defect coordinates from the acoustic emission signals and reducing the time of location.
