FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: control system for a hybrid vehicle with an engine, battery, motor generator and transmission mechanism comprises an electronic control unit selectively executing a driving mode with power consumption. The electronic control unit performs a change of a combustion mode during an inertia phase during transmission switching operation, or after the transmission switching operation is completed, in the event when a request for changing the combustion mode and a request for switching the transmission of the transmission mechanism overlap.
EFFECT: oscillation in the output power is suppressed.
