SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hybrid vehicles. Power generation control apparatus for the hybrid vehicle comprises a power generation controller, wherein the electric power is generated by the second electric motor by receiving the driving force from the internal combustion engine when driving with the use of the first electric motor as the driving source. Controller generates idling power at which power is generated by one electric motor by receiving a driving force from the engine while the vehicle is stopped. Controller sets the threshold value for the battery capacity for the sequential power generation and the threshold value for generating idle power equal to the identical value. Identical value maintains the battery's charging capacity in a range in which it is not necessary to limit the output power of the first electric motor when driving.

EFFECT: prevents discomfort when driving.
