SUBSTANCE: scanning method for magnetic resonance (MR) imaging using an MR scanner and a MR imaging system receive the MR-imaging protocol via a user interface. The Mr-imaging protocol is associated with the identified type of MR scanning from a predetermined set of MR scan types. The MR-imaging protocol includes adjustable parameters of the MR scanner to perform scanning for MR-imaging using the identified type of MR scanning used on the MR scanner to perform MR-imaging. The database is queried by providing scan information to the database regarding the identified type of MR scan, and multiple MR-imaging protocols are analyzed for the identified type of MR scanning stored in the database, and statistical information on the adjustable parameters of the identified type of MR scanning is generated. In response to the said query implementation, statistical information on the identified type of MR scanning is received from the database. The said statistical information contains statistics of modifications of at least one of the frequency and range of the adjustable parameters by the MR-imaging protocols for this type of MR scanning stored in the database. The said statistical information is provided to the user interface. Modifications to the above MR-imaging protocol are accepted from the user interface. These modifications result in a modified MR-imaging protocol. Scanning for MR-imaging is performed using the modified MR-imaging protocol. The method and system for provision of statistical information containing the database receive a request from a scanner for magnetic resonance imaging to analyze the identified MR-imaging protocol to identify the type of MR scanning of the identified MR-imaging protocol. The MR-imaging protocol includes adjustable scanning parameters of the MR scanner for scanning for MR-imaging. Statistical information about the identified type of MR scanning is generated. The said statistical information contains statistics on the range and frequency of modifications of the individual parameter values from the adjustable scan parameters for the identified type of MR scanning. The statistical information is based on the information on previously performed scans for MR-imaging using the identified type of MR scanning. The mentioned statistical information is provided to the scanner for magnetic resonance imaging. A computer-readable medium containing computer-executable instructions that, when executed by a computer connected to the scanner for magnetic resonance (MR) imaging, configure the computer to perform the method according to any of the preceding claims.

EFFECT: generation of statistical information on the adjustable parameters of the identified type of MR scanning by analyzing MR-imaging protocols for the identified type of MR scanning.
