SUBSTANCE: devices and methods are proposed for signal structures for "device-to-device" (D2D) subframes. The various embodiments may include a UE with a transceiver for establishing communication with another UE via the D2D communication. The UE may further include a processing circuit for generating a cyclic prefix (CP) for the first or the second D2D symbol of a subframe on the Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) resource block or the Frequency Division Multiple Access on Single Carrier (SC-FDMA) resource block. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.
