FIELD: heating system.

SUBSTANCE: method of group firing of roof burners of sintering machine ignition furnace comprises combustion of additional gas in flares located near the burner blocks of pilot burners. Combustion of the additional gas is carried out by means of two counter flares which are formed along the axis of installation of firing burners along in a row with the direction of the flare axis towards each other at a distance of 0.5 of the diametre of the burner tunnel from the roof and from the axis of burner installation in the row. The pilot burners are used, each of which consists of an air supply housing with a retaining washer, electrodes of firing and flame control and a gas channel which is divided into two pipelines at the inlet section, one of which is provided with a nozzle with a perforated washer and a baffle providing passage of 10-15% of gas beyond the retaining washer, and the other one is provided with a straight-jet tip which provides passage of 85-90% of gas.

EFFECT: obtaining the longest pilot flame with minimum gas flow.
