FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in chemical industry. Method of producing aluminum oxide from aluminum-rich materials with integrated recycling of CO2 includes grinding and leaching of rich Al materials in hydrochloric acid. Unreacted solid substance is separated from metal chloride solution. Separating Al3+ from said solution by crystallisation of AlCl3⋅6H2O. Obtaining Al2O3 by firing AlCl3⋅6H2O with extraction of HCl. Firing is performed in two stages: first by indirect heating at temperature from 400 to 600 °C for formation of HCl-rich gas, then at temperature higher than 600 °C to produce Al2O3. CO2 utilization is carried out into precipitate of metal carbonates from metal chloride solution, coming from separation stage Al3+. HCl and extractive amine are regenerated. Aluminum-poor metal chloride solution is mixed with organic solution containing selected amine, and mixture is brought into contact with CO2 gas for extraction of HCl by formation of complex of ammonium chloride salt and deposition of metal carbonate. Metal carbonate is separated. Thermally or chemically organic solution is treated in order to regenerate amine for recycling.
EFFECT: invention increases environmental safety when producing aluminum oxide from aluminum-rich silicate rocks.
