FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: for the purification of sodium sulfate from the impurities of nitrate and/or sodium nitrite contained in aqueous solutions, ammonium sulfate is added to the stock solution in a ratio of 0.5 moles to 1 mole of sodium nitrate and/or sodium nitrite. After this, the resulting solution is directed to evaporation and heat treatment of the resulting solid precipitate at a temperature of 230-300°C for 15-30 minutes.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain pure sodium sulphate without the use of corrosive media, to reduce environmental pollution.
