SUBSTANCE: wireless device is connected to the first network element via the second network element. The second network element and the wireless device communicate over the first wireless link. Network functions are divided between the first network element and the second network element. The method comprises transmitting a connection request with a the third network element that is a candidate network element for establishing DC, transmitting information identifying the first network element to the third network element, and transmitting the wireless device identifier to the third network element to enable a dual connection for the wireless device.
EFFECT: providing the ability to establish dual connection for wireless device running in a wireless communication network.
