FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: delivery system comprising an active agent in a polymeric material formed from a thermoplastic composition is described. Selective regulation with respect to the particular nature of the thermoplastic composition, as well as the manner by which it is formed, are used to form a pore network that contains a plurality of micropores and nanopores.
EFFECT: achievement of such a multimodal pore size distribution can provide variation in the active means delivery rate for particular application.
