FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method for determination of indications for selective adsorption of endotoxin in patients with sepsis caused by gram-negative microorganisms includes examination of body temperature, total leukocyte count, neutrophil shift, plasma procalcitonin level, determination of endotoxin activity by means of chemiluminescence analysis in the EAA test; at a body temperature less than 36°C and more than 38°C, total number of leukocytes less than 4×109/l and more than 12×109/l, neutrophil shift of more than 10%, procalcitonin content of more than 2 ng/ml and endotoxin activity equal to or greater than 0.6, selective sorption of endotoxin is prescribed, when the endotoxin activity of less than 0.6 is detected, neutrophils response is assessed according to the level of the "Response" index in the EAA test, at the "Response" level of less than 0.5, presepsin content in the patient's blood is further examined, at a presepsin concentration of 1500 pg/ml and above, selective adsorption of endotoxin is prescribed.
