FIELD: medicine, surgery.
SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with surgical treatment of tuberculosis of pulmonary organs. One should perform selective extrapleural thoracoplasty followed by extrapleural pneumolysis. The latter should be fulfilled by isolating a lung being basally against a caverna. After that, the caverna with surrounding pulmonary tissue should be bound with either one or two Dacron ligatures. The innovation enables to carry out efficient treatment in patients with metastatic fibrous-cavernous pulmonary tuberculosis despite the size of caverna, manifestation nature of pneumofibrosis and disease period. Application of the present method provides development of pronounced constant collapse of affected pulmonary section only.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of therapy.
