FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: oil coolant for metal machining belongs to the field of engineering industry, namely for standard and heavy metal machining operations. A composition of the oil coolant is developed, which contains an oil base and an additive package depending on the required metal processing regime and is characterized in that it contains industrial oils with a large range of kinematic viscosity at 50°C, as an additive package, an additive that is a mixture of lubricating, sulfur-containing and antioxidant components, or an additive modifier, which is a specially treated mixture of anti-sequestration sulfur-phosphate-nitrogen-containing components, thickeners and homogenizers, with the following component ratio, wt %: additive - 5-15 or modifier - additive - up to 20, industrial oils - up to 100. As an oil base it contains industrial oil I-15A or a mixture of industrial oils I-8A and I-12A, or I-12A and I-40A, or I-12A and I-50A, allowing to obtain the required kinematic viscosity of coolant for various metal treatment regimes.

EFFECT: developed composition of the oil coolant meets the requirements for the quality indicators of oil coolant used for standard and heavy metalworking operations of carbon and alloyed steels, and also contributes to the expansion of the arsenal of produced oil coolants.
