FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: magnetohydrodynamic simulating device comprises a permanently sealed plasma container containing an ionizable gas and having an axial pole; the first independently controlled conductive coil wound around the plasma container orthogonally to the axial pole and configured to generate the first electromagnetic field through the container and along the axial pole; at least, one independently controllable conductive edge contour substantially orthogonal to the first conductive coil and parallel to the axial pole and configured to generate the second electromagnetic field within the plasma container that is substantially orthogonal to the first electromagnetic field. The first and the second electromagnetic fields interact in generating the plasma-containing ionized gas flow under the control of the rotationally rotating plasma around the axial pole within the plasma container.
EFFECT: expanding the functionality of the device due to simulation of plasma magnetohydrodynamics in a non-fluid medium.
