FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: method includes preparing mixture of powders of metal and fullerites and its pressing at pressure of 5-8 gpa and temperatures of 800-1000°C providing generation of superhard carbon particles. Before preparing mixture of powders of metal and fullerites, mechanical activation of fullerites is carried out.

EFFECT: increase microhardness and Young's modulus of the reinforcing carbon particles which improves the wear resistance of the composites while maintaining or reducing the friction coefficient.
