FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: at first, the carbon black with the sulfur content of 1-2% is reacted with the alkali metal, for example sodium, at continuous stirring for 1-3 hours in the liquid medium at the temperature of 50-500°C and the pressure of 68.95-3447.38 kPa. The reaction mixture, containing the alkali sulfide derivative and the carbon black powder is produced. The liquid medium consists of at least one compound, selected from the group, consisting of toluene, xylene, hexane, heptane, gasoline, kerosene, crude oil, residual oil, ammonia, gaseous hydrogen and nitrogen gas. Then, the alkali sulfide derivative is recovered from the mixture by treatment with water at the temperature of 30-100°C. The carbon black powder with the sulfur content of less than 0.07% is obtained.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to reduce the sulfur content, thereby providing the desulfurization.
