FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to diagnose predisposition to the progression of carotid atherosclerosis in patients with concentration of low-density lipoproteins cholesterol (LDL cholesterol) <3.5 mm (normolipidemia). The method includes sample analysis to determine the population of CD4 + T-lymphocytes, featuring those that phenotyping of lymphocytes is made using labelled with fluorescent labels monoclonal antibodies to CD4, wherein the content of CD4 + cells, expressed in percentage (%) respect of lymphocytes, more than 39.5% indicates a high risk of progression of atherosclerosis.
EFFECT: use of this method allows to identify patients with high risk of progression of atherosclerosis, which allows timely correction of therapy in this category of patients.
