FIELD: machine engineering.
SUBSTANCE: seal includes first and second seal rings (44. 46) inserted into contact engagement along respective side surfaces, and first and second closing rings (40, 42) arranged around the first and second sealing rings (44, 46), so that outer diameters (OD5, OD6) of the first and second sealing rings (44, 46) are brought into contact with the inner diameters (ID3, ID4) of the first and second closing rings (40, 42), respectively. A support ring (36) is engaged with the first sealing ring (44) and the first closing ring (40). A stop ring (38) is brought into contact with the second sealing ring (46) and the second closing ring (42). In several embodiments, the first sealing ring (44) has a width (W5) which is smaller than the width (W6) of the second sealing ring (46). Another embodiment is also described.
EFFECT: improved reliability of the device.
