SUBSTANCE: ophthalmic lens design provides a lens for placement in or on the human eye, containing an optical and a non-optical zone, an energy source, at least partially embedded in the lens material in the non-optical zone and a multilayer integrated multicomponent device containing many layers of a multilayer substrate, formed wholly or partially ring shaped and embedded inside a non-optical lens material zone. One or more layers of the multilayer integrated multicomponent device includes an electrical consuming component electrically connected to the energy source.

EFFECT: autonomous power supply for the ophthalmic lens.
