FIELD: medicine; electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering and medicine, specifically to a biomedical device with a biocompatible battery and to methods for improving biocompatibility in a biocompatible battery, and can be used, for example, in the manufacture of contact lenses. Disclosed biocompatible device includes a biocompatible battery, made in the form of a layered structure, with a cavity filled with an electrolyte containing 10 % or less of ZnCl2 solution. Total thickness of the layered structure of the biocompatible battery is about 500 microns.
EFFECT: improving the safety of biocompatible batteries due to the choice of cathode material and the composition of the electrolyte solution, as well as the design of a sealed shell used to separate the device from the environment.
