FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: SUBSTANCE:diethyl ether is mixed with peroxide of common formula ROOH (I), where R=H or R1R2C(OOR3), where R1=CH2CH(CH3)2, R2=CH3 or R1=R2=n-butyl or R1+R2=(CH2)4, (CH2)5, (CH2)6, (CH2)7, (CH2)11, (CH2)2CH(CH3)(CH2)2, (CH2)2CHC(CH3)3(CH2)2, 2-adamantilil R3= H or R4R5C(OOH), where R4+R5=(CH2)5, (CH2)2CH(CH3)(CH2)2, (CH2)6, (CH2)11, tetraethoxysilane and the acid catalyst, and the process is conducted at a molar ratio of peroxide: tetraethoxysilane: acid catalyst (4-8):1.0: (0.5-2.0) and the volume ratio of diethyl ether equal to 3.0-5.0 ml per 1.0 mmol of tetraethoxysilane. As the acid catalyst, trifluoride boron etherate or sulfuric acid is preferably used.
EFFECT: creating a new kind of convenient and safe storage and transportation of a volatile solvent of diethyl ether through producing a new gel-structured system of peroxides and tetraethoxysilane not described in the literature, while there is no stage of pre-treating the tank, because the gel system is prepared with the direct participation of the stored product - volatile diethyl ether, the amount of diethyl ether quantity at its release is not lost, as it does not enter into chemical interaction with the gel-structured system.
