FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: rod for fixation of the damaged bone fragments in the external fixation device for multiple and floating fractures of ribs and/or breastbone, and/or clavicle has the first threaded portion from its inner end intended to interact with bone tissue and the second threaded portion from its outer end, configured to accommodate the fixing elements in the form of two nuts: one of which is a supporting nut, the other is a locking nut. The first threaded portion has at least three turns, a self-tapping grinding from the inner end, an increasing thread diameter in the direction from the inner to the outer end of the rod. The maximum diameter of the thread is made up to 6 mm with a possibility of placement in the outer cortical bone layer or partial immersion in the layer, and the length is made to exclude penetration beyond the inner cortical layer when the rod is immersed in the bone. The external fixation device for multiple and floating fractures of ribs and/or breastbone, and/or clavicle contains at least two rods for damaged bone fragments fixation, at least one plate bar with grooves for rods insertion, each rod has the first threaded portion from its inner end intended to interact with the bone tissue and the second threaded portion from the outer end of the rod, configured to be arranged in the bar groove or grooves of two overlapping bars and fixed by the elements securing the rod position in the bar or two bars, which are two nuts, one of which supports the rod, and the second is for fixing. The first threaded portion has at least three turns, a self-tapping grinding from the inner end, an increasing thread diameter in the direction from the inner to the outer end of the rod. The maximum diameter of the thread is made up to 6 mm with a possibility of placement in the outer cortical bone layer or partial immersion in the layer, and the length is made to exclude its penetration beyond the inner cortical layer when the rod is immersed in the bone. A set of working tools for installation of the above apparatus includes a drill with a depth gauge and a drill guide and a rod for damaged bone fragments fixation, which is an extended piece with a serrated (notched) end intended to be installed on a bone provided with a through channel for drill placement and a rod for damaged bone fragments fixation. The drill and guide are configured to extend the drill beyond the serrated face of the guide by 3-5 mm to pass the outer cortical bone.
EFFECT: increased stability, reliability of fixation of damaged ribs, clavicle and breastbone with a decrease in traumatism during operation and reduction of side effects in the post-operation period associated with the development of suppurative complications in the area of screw contact with bone tissue.
