FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of polymerizing glycolide and/or lactide in the monomer mass under the action of tin octanoate (II) in the presence of lauryl alcohol in an inert gas medium with a preliminary evacuation under heating, characterized in that lauryl alcohol is used in an amount of 0.02-0.08 moll. %, evacuation and vacuum filling with an inert gas are carried out three times at 50°C, and heating of the mixture is carried out in 3 stages: first up to 80-130°C with an exposure time of 5-20 minutes, then up to 190-200°C with an exposure time of 5-20 minutes, then up to 210-225°C and at this temperature, the polymerization is carried out for 30-45 minutes. A polymer with a molecular weight of 200-400 kDa and a logarithmic viscosity of 1.5-2.5 dl/g is obtained.
EFFECT: reducing the minimum polymerization time required to achieve maximum monomer conversion.
