FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: method and system for reducing pressure in a fuel regulator during cold start of an engine and change of fuel injection pressure after cold starting of vehicles operating on gaseous fuel are presented. A mechanical pressure regulator may be configured to integrate valves into its structure, which may be controlled to reduce the pressure in the regulator support pressure chamber when the gaseous fuel injection system is switched off (e.g. before and during cold start), and also to control the pressure of gaseous fuel for pressure variation based on the results of pressure electronic communication signal, and also operating conditions of the engine with switched on gaseous fuel gas injection system. According to the version, the pressure in the support pressure chamber regulator can be changed by controlling gaseous fuel supply valves into the support pressure chamber and further control of the discharge valves of gaseous fuel from the support pressure chamber, for example, into a fuel vapour filter.
