FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: cooling device for the internal combustion engine includes a BT cooling system, a HT cooling system, and an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit is configured so that when the BT temperature has reached the BT calculated value, it controls the operating mode of the BT cooling system by starting cooling to maintain said BT temperature at the BT target temperature level. The electronic control unit is configured so that when the HT temperature, which is the temperature of HT cooling medium, has reached the HT calculated value, it triggers the control of HT cooling to maintain the HT temperature at the HT target temperature level at a specific condition, so that preheating of the internal combustion engine is not required. Said electronic control unit is configured to start the control of the HT cooling when said BT temperature has reached the BT calculated value under condition when preheating is required.
EFFECT: improvement of engine cooling, fuel consumption and detonation prevention.
