SUBSTANCE: method for identification of reference clock signal, subjected to the asymmetry changes in the propagation delay in the communication network containing the main node, which has the main clock generator and a variety of slave nodes, each having the corresponding slave clock generator includes the following steps: determining that the first reference clock signal to be received by the first slave node indicates a temporary correction for its slave clock generator more than the threshold of temporary correction; determining that one or more other slave nodes received the reference clock signal, indicating a temporary correction for their slave clock generator more than temporary correction threshold; and determining whether the first reference clock signal is subjected to asymmetry changes in propagation delay based on determining whether one or more of the other slave nodes received the reference clock signal, indicating a temporary correction for their slave clock generator more than the threshold of temporary correction.

EFFECT: more precise definition of the asymmetry change of propagation delay, prevention of traffic losses, scalability and flexibility.
