The switch contains: a set of ports; and a processor configured to control the mentioned switch in such a manner that the mentioned switch supplies power to the device after receiving a signal intended for the device, continues to supply the power to the device until serial signals from the device are received for a period less than a predetermined shutdown period, and stops to supply the power to the device if otherwise.
