FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: device comprises of the first and second sectionalizing circuit-breakers, which connect respectively the bus of the first and second busbar sections of the substation. The same-name buses are connected to each other via the first sectionalizing circuit-breaker and at least one customer busbar bridge. The first and second sectionalizing circuit-breakers are closed-loop in normal operation. The first and second line circuit breakers are installed between the beginning and end of the cable line and corresponding section of the busbar bridge of thye substation and busbar bridge of the consumer, one-line circuit breaker is installed in the beginning and end of each cable line. The new fact about the claimed current protection device of the cable line is that it uses two fault detection units and two emergency cutoff units. Each fault detection unit is made from a single current transformer, installed between the nodes of the cable line, consisting of two identical cables. Each emergency cutoff unit is designed as a current relay with quick-action contacts. The control output of the current transformer is connected with the control input of the emergency cutoff unit, which is connected with the control inputs of the first and second line circuit-breakers on this cable.

EFFECT: providing instant cutoff of the faulty line and switching the load to another fault-free line without critical voltage failures in three-phase AC voltage transformers.
