FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: mechanism in electric distribution cabinet providing quick, reliable, passive control of arc discharge, has a gas outlet chamber surrounding the probable area of the arc, such as the point of electrical connection. The gas outlet chamber provides a gas outlet which elongates the arc and weaken current and temperature until the arc is preferably quenched. Preferably, the gas outlet chamber and the channel are formed from opposite polyhedral structures with open face surface, one placed inside the other one. The mechanism is particularly suitable for connections of the retractable circuit breaker in the switchgear cabinet.
EFFECT: arc prevention due to physical barriers.
