FIELD: pharmacology.

SUBSTANCE: medicinal form of contrast drug comprises a complex gadolinium compound (3+) in a concentration of 0.1-1.0 M/l, where the free ligand is present at a concentration of up to 2 wt %. The said dosage form contains 0.5 to 10.0 wt % of auxiliary medical polymer, which is polyvinylpyrrolidone with an average molecular weight of 8,000 daltons, poly-(O-2-hydroxyethyl)-starch with a molecular weight of up to 130,000 daltons and molar substitution of no more than 0.42, dextran with a molecular weight not more than 60000±5000 daltons or polyethylene glycol with a molecular weight of 1500±500 daltons, while the pH of the solution is 6.0-8.0. The group of inventions also relates to application of this contrast agent for generation of energy release in an irradiated target under binary radiation therapy.

EFFECT: increased safety and effectiveness of application of known compounds as contrast agents in MRI studies by increasing the stability of complex compounds when circulating in the bloodstream of the body, which leads to reduced toxicity, possibility of MRKS application in remote X-ray radiation therapy based on the photoelectric effect due to slowed rate of elimination from the injection site, reduced amount of the drug administered, which reduces the likelihood of adverse reactions due to introduction of auxiliary medical polymeric substances having a detoxification effect or activating blood microcirculation into the medicinal form.
