FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: environment for the synthesis-gas fermentation contains from 546 to 838 ppm of ion NH4+, from 31.8 to 279 ppm of phosphorus ions, from 39.3 to 118 ppm of potassium ions, from 8.4 to 16.8 ppm of iron ions, from 14.8 to 59.8 ppm of magnesium ions, and 250 ppm of cysteine HCl, wherein the environment for fermentation contains less than 0.025 ppm of boron, less than 0.0025 ppm of manganese ions, less than 0.001 ppm of molybdenum ions, and less than 0.01 ppm of copper ions. The method for the synthesis-gas fermentation using acetogenic bacteria involves the fermentation of synthesis gas in the said fermentation environment. The invention provides a specific yield of a product per pass (STY) of at least 1 gram of ethanol/(l daygram⋅ of cells).
EFFECT: increasing the yield.
