SUBSTANCE: method is proposed for reducing selenium content in biomass after fermentation of the CO-containing gaseous substrate. Method includes fermenting the CO of the gaseous substrate containing acetigenic bacteria, the fermentation medium containing less than 1 ppm of selenium, 112 to 125 mg of nitrogen per gram of cells, 10.5 to 15 mg of phosphorus per gram of cells, 26 to 36 mg of potassium per gram of cells.
EFFECT: method provides volumetric ethanol productivity and a reduction in selenium content in the cell biomass after fermentation.
