FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: electroencephalography (EEG) is used to perform a brain study during calm natural daytime sleep in term babies at the age of 7-14 days or in premature babies at the adjusted age of 40-42nd week. The caudal-rostral gradient index (CRGI) is calculated, as ratio of the activity amplitude in the frontal regions and the activity amplitude in the caudal regions of the brain. Also, the length of intervals between flashes of delta activity is determined. If the CRGI value is more than 2.0, and the length of intervals between delta activity flashes exceeds 6, sleep disorders in children from the high perinatal risk group are predicted in the 1st year of life.
EFFECT: method allows to increase the reliability of prediction results, which is achieved by determination and calculation of the optimal parameters characterizing the child's sleep.
