FIELD: transportation.

SUBSTANCE: pneumatic tire (1a) in the central area comprises an equatorial plane wherein the first set of blocks (16a) is located, separated and formed by two first longitudinal grooves (24) and a plurality of the first transverse grooves (26a). The second set of blocks (20a) separated and formed by one second longitudinal groove (28) and a plurality of the second transverse grooves (30a) is located at the outermost portion in the transverse direction of the tire on each side in the transverse direction of the tire. An edge (22) is located between the first set of blocks (16a) and the second set of blocks (20a). The edge (22) is separated by at least one third longitudinal groove (32), wherein a plurality of slit-like cuts (34a) are formed in the first set of blocks (16a), the second set of blocks (20a) and the edge (22).

EFFECT: improving the tire performance when braking on ice, while minimizing any reduction in performance when braking on snow.
