FIELD: color photometry and colorimetry. SUBSTANCE: light radiation from object is converted to three electric signals, nonlinear conversion of signals is performed and these signals are summed up vectorially to form signal used to measure color brightness. Signal of color brightness is subjected to square-root conversion and color amplitude is measured by obtained signal. First and second orthogonal chromaticity signals are formed, chromaticity signal is formed out of them by vectorial summing and is divided into signal of color amplitude. Color saturation is measured by obtained signal. One of orthogonal chromaticity signals is divided by summary chromaticity signal and is subjected to functional arc cosine conversion and color hue is measured by it.
