POWER SENSOR PROVIDING CONTINUOUS FEEDBACK FOR TOOTHBRUSH ACTUATED BY RESONANCE USING HALL SENSOR Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC A61C17/34

Abstract RU 2641159 C2

FIELD: items for personal use.

SUBSTANCE: electric toothbrush contains a handle, a cleaning head unit, a V-spring unit, an installation element, a Hall sensor and a processor. The handle comprises an electric drive unit including an engine having a stator section that drives the V-spring unit. The cleaning head unit includes the cleaning head shoulder and a cleaning element at its distal end. The V-spring unit responsive to the electric drive unit to convert the electric drive unit action into reciprocating action of the cleaning head unit is supported by a bearing unit. Two support bearings are located between the bearing unit and the lower edge of the V-spring unit. A nodal element and a flat spring are connected by the bearing elements to the opposite ends of the V-spring unit. The V-spring unit and the cleaning head unit move together around the pivot point. The cleaning head unit rotates around the pivot point, and the rear end of the V-spring unit moves in the opposite direction. The mounting element is located at the rear end of the V-spring unit. The magnet is attached to the mounting element. The Hall sensor is installed in the magnetic field created by the magnet, while the output of the Hall sensor changes compared to the no-load state in accordance with the displacement of the rear end of the V-spring due to the pressure on the cleaning element. The processor, based on the output of the Hall sensor and the stored information, generates a signal indicating the pressure applied to the cleaning element during the cleaning process.

EFFECT: invention provides continuous feedback of pressure information through a sensor system for toothbrush actuation through resonance.
