SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical equipment and is intended for oral hygiene. Electric toothbrush comprises a handle, comprising an electric drive assembly and brushhead assembly, including a brushhead arm and a brush element at a distal end thereof. Electric drive assembly includes a V-spring assembly, a mounting member, a magnet, a Hall effect sensor and a processor. V-spring assembly converts the action of the electric drive assembly to back-and-forth movement of the brushhead assembly. Mounting member is positioned at the rear end of the V-spring assembly and provides a base for the magnet. V-spring assembly and brushhead assembly comprise a module that moves around the pivot point at the front end of the V-spring such that the rear end of the V-spring assembly is biased in accordance with the pressure applied to the brush element. Hall effect sensor is installed in a variable magnetic field generated by the magnet when the rear end of the V-spring assembly is displaced due to pressure on the brushhead. Processor is responsive to the Hall sensor output signal and stores information to produce a signal indicative of the pressure applied to the brushhead and to indicate that pressure has exceeded a given threshold.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to provide continuous feedback with information about the pressure of the toothbrush bristles applied by the user.
