SUBSTANCE: motor vehicle comprises a dashboard to which a combined storage and joining unit for a portable electronic device is attached. The storage and joining unit comprises a storage box, a lid hingedly connected to the storage box by a pair of dependent levers located near the rear edge of the lid, an electrical connector, a lid opening spring connected to the lid to move the lid to an open position, and a locking mechanism actuated by a user for holding the lid in the desired position against the action of the lid opening spring.
EFFECT: possibility to arrange and hold the portable electronic devices of various sizes and shapes in the storage and joining unit is achieved.
