SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a hair straightener (10) comprising the first gripper (12) having the first plate (16); the second gripper (14) having the second plate (18); a rod (20) connected to the first and second grippers (12, 14) to allow the user to pivot at least one of the grippers (12, 14) around the axis of the rod (22) between the open and closed positions. The hair straightener (10) contains a heater to heat at least one of the first and second plates (16, 18) and an operating lever (26) to adjust the pressing force between the first gripper (12) and the second gripper (14). The operating lever (26) is connected with the first gripper (12) through the first spring element (28) and rotatable to provide the user with the ability to turn the operating lever (26) relative to the first gripper (12) around the axis of the rod (22) or around the axis, which is parallel to it.
EFFECT: ease of applying force between two adjoining plates.
