FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method includes heating a metal body containing two adjacent planar faces, generating the body by the optical phonons on one of the facets of the broadband plasmon polariton surface (PPS), the diffracting the PPS to the edge interfacing the facets, and transforming the PPS as a result of the diffraction in volume radiation. Regulation of the amplitude-frequency spectrum of radiation is carried out by changes of the body temperature and the size of the moulding PPS facet, observed from the edge in the direction perpendicular to it.
EFFECT: providing the possibility of operational control of the amplitude-frequency spectrum of an ensemble of harmonic components of the generated IR radiation.
