FIELD: communication.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of communication. Method for splitting plasmon polariton communication channel of the terahertz range includes creating the main and the secondary channels on individual plane-faced substrates with rectangular ribs, arranging non-uniformity in the form of the rib of its substrate in the main channel, converting plasmon polariton using this rib into a body wave, wherein the wave conducting faces of all channels are located in one plane, mating faces of the main channel and one secondary channel guiding plasmon polariton in the initial direction, are selected mirror skewed relative to each other. Wave conducting face of the other secondary channel adjoins the wave conducting face of the main channel on the side of its longer rib that is adjacent to the rib crossing the track of the initial plasmon polariton, tapered face of the secondary channel is separated from the tapered face of the main channel using a plane parallel beam-splitting plate oriented perpendicular to the plane containing the wave guiding face, wherein plasmon polariton is generated using the body wave in the channel separated with a plated from the main channel, and plasmon polariton is reflected with a plate in the channel adjoining the main channel.
EFFECT: use of the method allows to reduce the power loss accompanying the transmission of signal from the main into secondary plasmon communication channels, as well as to eliminate the need for adjustment of channels when splitting or coupling the channels.
