FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: impulse source of helium ions with cold cathode and anticathode consists of a solenoid coil, put on a non-magnetic vacuum chamber, inside of which the cathode magnetic pole with a central recess is located, a stainless steel cathode as a flat disk with a central recess in the form of a glass, adjacent to the cathode magnetic pole, a circular anode isolator, an anode in the form of a hollow cylinder with a circular jumper in the middle, made of stainless steel, along the axis of which there is a recess with an emission hole in the center, inserted in the hole of the anticathode magnetic pole with its protruding part. A ring lug is provided on the anticathode. It is coaxial with the anode and located towards the anode, the diameter of the lug is larger than the diameter of the nozzle in the cathode, but smaller than the inner diameter of the anode. The device provides a pulse beam of helium ions at a pulse frequency of 16-50 Hz, the duration of pulses of sinusoidal form on the base of the pulse 100×10-6 s and the current amplitude of the ion beam of 80×10-3 A.
EFFECT: stabilization of the discharge density along the axis of the ion emission hole.
