FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: cutting tool with wear-resistant coating comprising a substrate and a wear-resistant coating deposited on the substrate and covering at least a portion of the substrate. The substrate comprises a structured region with recesses within a portion of the coated substrate. Each of said recesses has a depth D. Moreover, 2 mcm<D<100 mcm, the width Wi at half the depth of the notch. Moreover, Wi≤2Tc, and Tc is thickness of wear-resistant coating (2), ranging from 2 mcm to 30 mcm. Recess is at least partially filled with a wear-resistant coating (2) containing an inner layer made of compound Ti (C, O, N), Ti (C, N), TiC, TiN or their combinations, and an outer layer made of Al2O3.
EFFECT: creating an improved cutting tool for machining iron-based materials and improving the cutting properties and wear resistance of the cutting tool.
