SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a cutting tool having a wear-resistant coating with a base coat and a layer of wear-resistant coating formed on the base coat of the said substrate. Wear-resistant coating layer comprises a layer α-aluminum oxide, which has a value of the residual voltage (A) in the crystallographic plane (116) has a value of 20≤A≤500 MPa, and the magnitude of the residual stress (B) in the crystallographic plane (012) has a value of -800≤B≤-100 MPa.
EFFECT: cutting tool with improved wear and fracture resistance, which has a longer service life than ordinary products is offered.
