FIELD: cutting tools.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a cutting tool with a wear-resistant coating containing a substrate and a wear-resistant coating. Said coating contains at least one layer α-Al2O3 with thickness of 1–20 mcm deposited by chemical vapor deposition (CVD). Said layer α-Al2O3 is characterized by a structure determined by X-ray diffraction, with texture coefficient TC(hkl) determined according to Harris formula, wherein 1<TC(024)<4 and 3<TC(0012)<6.
EFFECT: enabling to obtain coated cutting tool, which has improved cutting characteristics during turning, milling and/or drilling and has improved resistance to formation of wear pockets in combination with high resistance to delamination during plastic deformation of cutting edge.
